Small business owner optimism drops slightly in the second quarter of 2017. The overall index score is 64, down 3 points from 67 in Q1.

Are the presidential candidates discussing the issues most important to you as a small business owner? 69% of small business owners responded "no," while only 28% responded "yes," with 3% responding "don't know."

Small business owners indicated that the new president's actions relating to the following issues were extremely or very important to them:

Changes in the tax code, tax regulations and tax rates for small business - 83% Economic policies that affect small business owners - 77% Healthcare and the current healthcare law - 73% Confidence consumers have in the economy - 69% Terrorism and national security - 67%
