Business Owners Show Strong Optimism, Confidence in Economy in Q2

The Q2 Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index

Overall Index score was 129* in Q2 Q2 Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index score was 129, with 62 percent of respondents indicating optimism regarding their present situation and 67 percent regarding future expectations.

Tax Reform Impact

The survey explored how small business owners felt about their tax situation as their first full year under the recently reformed tax regulations have been in effect. 48 percent indicated that the recent legislation had little effect on their 2018 taxes. 51 percent said the recent legislation had little effect on their overall business.

Accessing Credit

26 percent showed interest in applying for a new credit product in the next twelve months. 53 percent said it was somewhat or very easy to obtain credit in the past twelve months and expected the same in the coming year.
