When I first became president of the company we would go into offices or construction sites, and a lot of the leaders would look around like, "Well, where's the owner?”
But I wouldn't have it any other way because it's made me a little bit tougher, and it's also helped me build that solid relationship not just with my team, but also with my customers. So that they can trust me and they know that I have the right people to help me get their job done.
My name is Vanessa, and I am president of Home Turf Texas Landscape and Design. We are a family owned and operated business here in Houston, Texas.
Technology has overall changed the way that we operate our business from in the office to running the crews outside on the property. Back in the day, we had sketch drawings, now we offer digital renderings so that we can quickly make adjustments.
Water management plays a key role in the way that we operate our business. We track the water, where it's coming from, and how much that we're using. It's a better way for us to run our business and explain the importance of that in our environment.
My relationship with Wells Fargo has really changed significantly because we've experienced growth in our company in terms of what we can now offer our customers. They help us with everything that has to do with expanding, whether it's equipment or whether it's purchasing new trucks or new materials to do a project.
They know us as soon as we go through the door; that's the kind of relationship that we have with Wells Fargo at a local level, and I really do enjoy that a lot. It says a lot about them as a company and also us, the people we decide to do business with.
Our future is very bright. I really see us being able to assist more customers within the new construction phase. We want to be the type of company that can offer them more services, not just lawn maintenance.
We have an irrigation team. And we're now opening up to the concrete division too. So we'll be that one stop shop for our customers.
